Summer Solstice Event 2011

Cannock Civic Observatories held a Summer Solstice event on Sunday 19th June at the Museum of Cannock Chase, Valley Road, Hednesford, WS12 1TD from 11.00 a.m. to 4 .00 p.m..

There were displays, demonstrations and solar observation with both modern and vintage telescopes.

Those who failed to see us then, caught up with us at our observatories at Cardinal Griffin School on the evening of the actual Solstice day.

Since the opening of the observatories we have held a special Christmas event at which our speaker was Peter Hingley from the Royal Astronomical Society, and in March 2011 we held 3 days of special events for National Science and Engineering Week.
